Final year project result
It has been a long time since my last post. I was very busy designing name card at the office and attending customers.
"Ms. Chien, I want to change the background color."
"Ms. Chien, what do you think about this?Looked better?"
"ya..ya...Okay fine." (it's better for me if you have you own idea. I don't have to crack my brain to think for you! you tell me what you want and i will put down the design for you.)
Although i was busy, i still have ample time to check my result. I thought I will get an A for my final year project as the examiner told me that I'd done a good job during viva. With the A, it will boost my CGPA. However, I only got an -A. (What a disappointed..) With this, I will not graduate as 1st class honor.. shame of me... sorry to someone, my failure had brought shame to you..oh, I'll not fly to Seremban in August. I don't know how to face someone. woo...
p/s: There's no airport in Seremban. Of course I won't fly there. I'll take the bus from Penang..)

Beckett, now with control of Jones' heart, forms a dark alliance with him in order to rule the seas and wipe out the last of the Pirates. Now, Jack, Barbossa, Will, Elizabeth, Tia Delma, and crew must call the Pirate Lords from the four corners of the globe, including the infamous Sao Feng (Chow-Yun Fat), to a gathering that will make their final stand against Beckett, Jones, Norrington, the Flying Dutchman, and the entire East India Trading CompanySourced from IMDB
Heroes Season 1
The ending is both laughable and very unconvincing, feels like being cheated by the producers. Anyway, I have no idea whether the same heroes will come back in season 2 or a new bunch of faces will take over with a completely new story that is somehow linked to the events in season 1. It can be neither of the two also. We will just have to wait and see.

Cakes on Mother’s day
My aunts purchased three different flavor of cakes: chocolate, strawberry and blueberry flavor.
Flower of Dragon fruit
Above is the flower of the Dragon fruit which only blooms at night around 8pm.
Here is the plants called "Fatt Choy" tree or "Bu Bu Gao Shen" tree which I bought from Sarikei 6 years ago as gift for my father on Father's day. It was a very small and fragile looking tree. I bought it with RM 40 as it was rare at that time. But now, it can be seen everywhere. Sigh..
Biscuits bought from Sibu
( I can hear someone sighing in Seremban.)
My companions at night
Introduce to you, my teddy bears! They are good teddies as they never scold me like someone did, they never ask me to keep fit like someone did, they never …haha.. someone isn’t that bad la.. :p
They are naughty sometimes. see, the little teddy is pushing the big teddy.
Little Dalmatian accompanies me at night too. It likes photograph session very much.
Ya... someone is so lame...
Piggy lovers
Both of my sis-in-law are piggy lovers.
There’s a pig in front of my eldest bro’s computer. Ya, it was bought by my sis-in-law to be. This pig was able to talk once you pressed its stomach. But now, it has lost its ability after my sis-in-law underwent a dissecting procedure on it.
Besides that, she owns a piggy bag too!
pirated matao on the cupboard.

And here is another piggy decoration in the living room.

Pay Rise!
The Star's headline today is 'big pay rise'. According to the article, the rise for a professional is about 15% (from rank 41-54). Great! This make the current starting salary of RM1800+ to become something like RM2100+ when the rise is implemented in July (but it's still so low...). Well, just hope that all of these will not end up becoming nothing with the next epsiode of fuel hike, toll hike, inflation of daily goods or whatever like that...
There's also an increase in the cost of living allowance (COLA) of 100%. Those working in BIG urban regions in Peninsular Malaysia get something about 200-300 while other places (including Sabah & Sarawak) get only RM100. Wtf? Is this how government treat those noble souls who want to serve in the less privileged areas of Malaysia? Comon, the only way to pull people into these regions is to up their pay! Forget about getting foreign doctors, I'm sure with IMU (and also other private universities in Malaysia) churning out so many graduates, shortage of doctors is a joke. The only problem we have is maldistribution of the workforce with so many people refusing to go to those more ulu places. Can't blame them really, u get less COLA, less chance of advancing your career and you'll be literally bored to death, it'll be extremely noble of u to serve in those places, i salute you!
Still thinking of where to work after graduate. Well, it seem like a no brainer answer...gzz, why don't the government also give incentives to those from East malaysia the same incentives they give to those Peninsular boys when they opt to work in Sabah & Sarawak (much much higher housing allowance)? it'll make my choice so much easier...ha (pai sei...am i too realistic?)
wifi at my bro's office
Before I found a proper job for myself, I volunteer myself to help my bro at his office. My daily responsibilities will be...... hmm.... for the time being, design flyer with my sister-in-law...haha..
Posing with a walking stick
Haha... I wish!
Thanks Azman for the walking stick!
绝对Superstar in Seremban Parade
What a pleasant surprise. Today we went to Seremban Parade for dinner. However, it wasn't as dead as it usually was. The 3rd floor car park was full, how very unusual. Just as we were cracking our head thinking why Seremban Parade was filled with so many cars, the answer hit us the moment we stepped into the mall. The top ten contestants from the local reality show 绝对Superstar was performing on stage! Now this explain why the mall is full of ah bengs and ah lians. I didn't know who were them at first and i asked Siu Min who stood behind me. Luckily none of their fans were around there or i'll be a dead piece of meat.
We then ate our dinner in Mac D under extremely horrible noise pollution. The sound system was so loud that it definitely exceeds the level of 120 Db, bad for our tympanic membrane (ear drum)! Not that they can sing very well also...shh, don't crucify me.
p/s: we didn't really see the female contestants, was happily munching my burger, what a disappointment....
My new glasses
This must be my most expensive eyewear to date.
But my old specs's frame is getting distorted and friends begin to say that i have a crooked nose. No, it's because of the specs, nothing wrong with my nose.
I went for the eye check up, apparently power up again:
Left - -6.00 (myopic power), 1.25 (astig power)
Right - -5.50 (myopic power), 0.75 (astig power)
Not surprising, considering i can't see quite clearly for quite sometime de
Bought from M.O.G (metro Optical Group) Terminal One Seremban. Cost me RM350 for everything.
The frame is from cyber eyeworks. (the salesperson told me very popular, don't know how true is that, but at least it come with its own box)
The lens is diamond coated, a grade above the usual multi-coat which cost RM50 more. The benefit is it's more oil repellent and is 'crystal' clear. Wtf, whatever, but since it's only RM50, why not just give it a try...
Here's the pic:
Wa, I feel like Dai Go...
I'm one happy man who don't have to worry other people saying I have crooked nose now!
Review: Lord of War
In the 80s in Little Odessa, the Ukrainian immigrant Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage) decides to change his economical life and becomes an arm dealer with his brother Vitaly Orlov (Jared Leto). His business of gunrunner supplying illegal weapons in disturbed areas of the planet increases with the end of the Cold War, and Yuri bribes a Russian general to sell most of his arsenal. Meanwhile, he becomes a millionaire and uses his money to seduce the beautiful Ava Fontaine (Bridget Moynahan) and they get married, having a son. The detective Jack Valentine (Ethan Hawke) chases Yuri trying to put him in jail, but in the end he understands that Yuri is a necessary evil for the interest of his nation.Sourced from IMDB
Another interesting movie watched this week. Well, it certainly change my mind about the meaning of 'weapon of mass destruction'. I always thought of it being nuclear missiles, some anthrax bombs or something that can go bomb and everybody dies. However, how many of us would have thought that simple firearms like the AK47 can easily murder more than anything in the world can. These traditionally branded 'weapon of mass destruction' which the US had keep on preventing other nations from acquiring only sits in the silo, and if my history is correct, the US was the only one who used them on a really really large scale to end the world war II (bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki). So, which is more deadly? an ak47 (the most popular rifle in the black market of Africa) or a nuclear bomb? What did i say of weapon of mass destruction again?
Another similar movie will be The Protege by Andy Lau last year. Just that one talking about drug, another on gunrunners. Both of the bad guys have the same belief - what they are doing is only simple demand and supply of economics. There is nothing wrong. They are not the one responsible for the misuse of their products. Well, this proves that greed can really blind a person's eye and heart. Now, who owns Genting or alcohol/Tobacco company stock here? I want to tell you that you are actually destroying many people's life right now! ha...is there any difference?
Cage is as monotonous as always in the movie, but this is a lot better than Ghost Rider. Watch it if you haven't.
Review: The Painted Veil
Based on the novel by W. Somerset Maugham, The Painted Veil is a love story set in the 1920s that tells the story of a young English couple, Walter (Edward Norton), a middle class doctor and Kitty (Naomi Watts), an upper-class woman, who get married for the wrong reasons and relocate to Shanghai, where she falls in love with someone else. When he uncovers her infidelity, in an act of vengeance, he accepts a job in a remote village in China ravaged by a deadly cholera epidemic, and takes her along. Their journey brings meaning to their relationship and gives them purpose in one of the most remote and beautiful places on earth.

This is definitely not a chick flick! It's really worth a watch. It's really amazing how far we had advanced for the past 100 years. I never imagine working in an epidemic region infested with infective organism without any proper barrier such as gloves, plastic apron, etc. It's like suicide, but we didn't have them 100 years ago, we didn't even have penicillin! Had not seen a case of cholera yet before, so really can't comment on how much of the symptoms projected in the show are fiction/real. I suppose it fits in the textbook description of 'rice water stool', but Walter kinda die too fast in the end it's a bit ridiculous (sorry for the spoiler). Oh, and Anthony Wong stars in this film as well, as the cool nationalist (i guess) colonel. All in all, it's really good show, I'll list it as a must watch.
Colonel Yu (Anthony Wong) can really speaks good english! haha..
I'm So Bored!!
I'm surfing net at Everly Hotel. (The hotel is the only hotel that provides free WiFi).. Since the streamyx at my sis-in-law place was slow and not stable, i've to come here to book the air ticket. By the way, air asia provide free seat from Bintulu to KL. Dan, you wanna come back or not?
Happy mother's day!
