Yahoo! The viva is over!
Wow! I'm so happy! My viva was finally over and now I'm in Negeri Sembilan again (Am I insane?! muahaha...)
I was expecting there would be a lot of correction that I need to do in my thesis after viva. But, there were only minor mistakes!
This is the picture taken before viva.
When I reached the Tutorial Room, my lab mate was presenting his findings. As I expected, (start from the left) Prof. N (My supervisor), Dr. RA and Dr. R were in the room.
I was nervous sitting down there while Hasleen was presenting. She was unlucky as Prof. N was her examiner. Her supervisor, Dr. RA was shaking her head during Q&A session. Oh, if my supervisor also shake his head during my presentation, I'll be very disappointed.
Although I was a bit nervous at the beginning of my presentation, I managed to finish it on time.
Once I finished with the acknowledgement, Dr. R said,
' You used my chemical things but never thank me..'
' Oh, sorry.. I would like to thank Dr. R for ...'
' Oh...It's too late..'
(God! Will this affect my performance?)
Well, neither Dr. R nor Dr. RA was my examiner. My examiner was Dr. Has, whom I never met before. My friends and I were shocked when she came into the tutorial room before my turn.
I was lucky as she only asked me three questions which were quite general.
1. ' I saw you used unculturable and uncultivatable in your thesis, which one is more suitable to describe microorganisms?'
2. 'What did you mean by direct DNA extraction?'
3. ' Can you determine the existence of the microorganisms in the environment by only extracting the DNA from the soil?'
I was still waiting for the next question when she said 'That's all..'
When I was in her room, she told me that, ' You have only minor mistakes in your thesis. I think (you think?) you have done a good job. (Do you mean I deserve an A?) Actually I'm not a professional in your topic, but I'm happy reading your thesis. I've learnt new things from you.
(Really? Do you mean that I am good?)
With that, I went back to my hostel happily.
Yahoo! Seremban, I'm coming again!
